After receiving an MSW from Boston University School of Social Work in 1979 and working in children’s protective services and in mental health in Alaska, I have been in private practice in Eugene since 1986.
With training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, my work has been influenced by mindfulness training, process-oriented psychology, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Areas of focus include anxiety and depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, and trauma. I have an interest in working with dreams, health and wellness, meditation. I am trained in EMDR and am a certified practitioner of TRE (Tension and Trauma Release Exercises.) My style is interactive and my goal is to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Using a variety of theoretical approaches, I help clients identify issues they need to manage or resolve in order to achieve the quality of life they are seeking.
I have a deep regard for the role one’s spiritual life may have assisting with one’s overall well-being. I respect the uniqueness of each individual and the drive to achieve a sense of wholeness and self-expression. With this in mind, I strive to bring compassion, focus and direction to the work we do together.
